Commander Cody will be doing a live show at Alligator Alley in Sunrise, Florida on June 29th 2003. Does any one know who's his current pedal steel player. This night club is a Jazz-Blue's club.

I don't believe George is carrying a steel these days. From his website:
Quote:
These days along with George, the band is, Mark Emerick on guitar, Rick Mullen on bass and Steve Barbuto on drums.

From my last conversation with Mark Emerich, Cody uses pickup steelers around the country. Well, maybe more than just "pickup"; there are "regulars" in each region whom he uses when he passes through that part of the country. Don't know who he'd have in Florida, however...

Wouldn't it be cool to see Cody with Wally Murphy?

It could happen -- in Florida

For the most part, The 'Ol Commander is travelling without a steelman but hot, lead guitar player, Mark Emerick is a huge steel fan. Mark also plays lap steel for kicks.

When he can get the dough for the steel on gigs he uses several folks; Bobby Black (of course) out west, Don E. Curtis, John Widgren or yours truly, Tiny O.

It's always fun for me to do the gigs 'cause Cody & the LPA are one of my absolute, favorite bands of all time.

I'll be doing the Winterhawk Festival in Hillsdale, N.Y. and opening day at Saratoga Race Track with them in July. Come on out, should be fun !!

He's gonna be in my neck of the woods in a couple of weeks. I'd sure like to know if he's going to have a steel player with him...................

David:

The Commander may or may not have a steel player for that gig. It's a fun show even without the pedal steel (but more fun with of course.)

Check out Mark Emerick's site at
Mark Emerick.com and you may get some clues. Mark is the great lead guitarist, a cool guy and a BIG steel guitar fan.
