I want to thank Duane Becker, Bill Atwood, and all of the other fine folks who helped put on the Steel jam this past weekend. The music was super! capped by David Wright's dynamic performance. I enjoyed Duane's Westcoast style but I would have liked to hear more of it. Ray Montee's non-pedal playing really impressed me. Talk about class! I also enjoyed the playing of Dean Simmons (wonderful C6 styling), Lee Lessig, Darrel Klien, Joe Evans, and many more whose names I didn't get. Darrel Klien's gospel jam on Sunday morning was a real pleasure. I heard a lot of the great old songs played in a variety of styles. If you're in the Northwest and didn't go, you really missed some great playing. Plan on attending next year. I know I am.

You are absolutely right! This was a great jam! Duane and Bill were/are excellent hosts and we met a great bunch of players. Vanetta and I will be back again next year! That is if Bill can remember to invite us.

Don't rub it in, I am bummed out that I did not hear about it until Friday. Maybe next year. |

Karlis...........THANK YOU for the kind words. Much appreciated, I assure you. Yes,
Duane's program was a fine exception to the rule and I'm honored to have had the occasion to participate in the show.
SORRY more folks didn't participate in it.
Duane and his group worked very hard to produce a fun event and I believe they succeeded in doing so.
I got to mingle with some really fine folks from both the states and Canada. It was a joyous occasion. |
