I think it goes:
"grant me the serenity
to accept the things
I cannot change,
Courage to change the
things I can,
and a great big bag of money!"
I first heard this at an MA meeting- Musicians Anonymous; it's a 12 half-step program.

I wrote and copyrited "The Steel Guitarist Prayer" Years ago.It went - Lord I pray that I may never-Forget to use the Right knee lever-And while I am pressing pedal "B"- Guide my foot past A and C-Help me remember whatever the key-Is it pedal up ,or down, or with a knee-Give me strength no matter how far- To carry my Steel back to the car- And Lord I ask as my final plea-That I DON'T BREAK STRING STRING #3. Ed Naylor Steel Guitar Works. Make a donation to the Animal fund and I will send a copy. |

Hey Ed, I still have the original cloth printing of the prayer that you sold at the convention years ago. It's tacked up on the wall of my music room. |

My "Steeler's Prayer"
Dear Lord,
As I travel about with picks and slide-
Lord help me to play and my mistakes to hide-
As the strings of life stretch and break-
Help me to make music like you would make-
As I argue with my amp and try to tune-
Lord help me make sure I'm in tune with you-
Someday in Heaven, When a harp I receive-
Just give me one with pedals-
Right next to Big E's.

Dave.
Is there perhaps a 12 half-stop program available?
