I think it is caaled "That"ll Be Allright.
Almost sounds like LLoyd Green.

The album credits for the whole Drive CD show Robbie Flint and Paul Franklin (as per Barnes n nobles website), so I'd guess mr Franklin did this..... one other feature, ifyou click on his name, it brings up a search for him... turns out his name is on some 275 or so different recordings...

Thanks Gino. I tried to buy it yesterday at two different stores and they were out. The reason I had Lloyd in mind was about eight bars into the song there was a lick similar to the one in Charley Pride's "Kiss An Angel Good Morning". That will teach me to assume anything!

Paul Franklin can do a convincing impersonation of just about any major steel player you can think of.

I read in an interview that Paul had John Hughey trying to remember when he recorded 'When I Call Your Name' with Vince. (He didn't, but it fooled a lot of people).
Listen to it, then listen to 'Look at Us' (which IS Mr. John) or some of the other slow tunes John did with Vince and compare the tone and execution. Paul sounds great playing Paul, but he's a real student of those who came before him and he can do it on tunes he's never heard those other players play before.

Hi Kim, just to let you know it "WAS NOT" Lloyd Green on "Kiss an Angel Good Morning" Lloyd was busy that day with another artist, and Gene O'Neal Charley's road steel player played on that song and some other songs on the "Charley sings Heart Songs" Album.

If you do want to hear Lloyd with Alan Jackson check out Alan's new Christmas CD it features Lloyd on 1 song, "Santa Claus is Comin' to Town" .
Also you can hear him on Steve Warnier's new CD "Steal another Day" Cut # 9 is "I'm your Man" and you can hear a really cool solo.

Thanks Red. Like I said, it is never safe to assume. I would really like to see someone in the "KNOW" do a book or compilation of what steeler played with who on what. I know it is unimportant to many, but I find it interesting to learn things like the example above, that may be lost in the future. Thanks again,
Kim

I saw Gene O'Neal at Mr.Lucky's in 1971?(I can't remember the year) with Charlie Pride.

During intermission, we had a long talk and a couple of drinks together. I was buying.

He was a great guy and great player
and hasn't got the credit he deserved. He was on several of Pride's big hits...al

"Live at Panther Hall" now that is "Mr. Nashville Sound" Lloyd Green on that album.

It is also my favorite LP of all time.
