I recently started playing my Sierra Laptop on a few songs with Open Hearts. At first I used my regular E13 tuning, but I found that it didn't have some of the "power chords" that I needed. Last night I restrung it to include a middle F#, and I'm really happy with the result:
1. G#

2. E
3. C#
4. B
5. G#
6. F#
7. E
8. B
The F# is tuned beatless to the B strings. This gives me a very solid 151 power chord on strings 8, 6 and 4, and a lot of very handy lead notes.

Just wanted to share...

Bobby, that's pretty cool. Are you retuning back and forth for songs our just leaving it on there all the time?

I'm only using it on 3 songs, and they all work very well in this tuning. They are all major chord progressions:
Song 1

C G D D 3 times
C G A A

Song 2
G F C G with some arrangment variations

Song 3
D C G D 4 times
F C G D 4 times
So you see, they are all pretty similar. Not exactly rocket science.
