I hope the forumites will join with me in welcoming my friend, neighbour, and wonderful musician Matt Brydges to the forum.
Matt comes from a very musical family, and his late father Bobby was the first steel player I ever heard play live. Matt has already acquired quite a reputation as a multi-instrumentalist. As well as being a great bass player and drummer, his Tony Rice style flatpicking has raised a few eyebrows.
If that isn't enough, he's also one of the finest young gentlemen you could hope to meet. Welcome, Matt!

Welcome Mat.........
Ooooooooops! MSN did that to me!
By all means, WELCOME MATT. You'll enjoy the Forum immensely even tho' there is a very small chance, highly remote, that you might not always agree with the majority of old timers who still like great music, tone, technique, styling and individual tastes that identify the player. Enjoy your stay! |

Thank you so much John and others for the kind words! I have been away from the computer for a few days and just noticed this thread. I must say I've never met a better man than John Steele - an excellent musician and all around wonderful person! It is great to be a part of this forum, and I have already received a few emails from people offering their help and advice about the recent purchase of my first D10. I am a fairly new steeler - I just took a notion earlier this year to raise up my Father's old Fulawka and give it a try. While I MOST certainly fit in the "beginner" category, the steel has already given me more enjoyment than any other instrument I have played, and I hope to one day be decent at it .
Anyway, thanks again, and I'll be around.
