The Legrand 111 will be here in 40 days.I ordered black double neck black with 8-6.I put and extra knee on the c-6 neck.I ordered it with the counterforce on the e-9 neck only and with the Emmons name plate with the chrome back.I also ordered it with the chrome and gold fretboards.I figured if I was going all out,to go ahead and make it a show piece. For all interested in seeing it when it comes in,my good buddy Nick Reed says he will bring over the ole digital camera and snap a few.Hopefully we can post them on the forum here. Congratulations on your new Emmons Richard. I know it was tough on you when you had to get rid of your other one. Sometimes things turn out for the better though! Look at the cadillac you are winding up with
God Bless

I don't know the story, but it looks like this one chapter is headed for a happy ending.
I know how excited you must be. It sounds like a gem. Black never goes out of style.
I'm back to practicing on LeGrande II single neck. I'll never be worth a damn, but I sure can't fault the equipment.

Ron, I was thinking before I read your post,"Why don't all steel makers save themselves a lot of trouble, and money, and only offer black guitars?" You're right, it never goes out of style, looks better than anything else, and ALWAYS sounds better!
Congratulations, Richard, on the new ax! |

Well that should get it goin', Stephen.
Honestly, I wasn't smart enough to conclude that black never goes out of style. My wife told me that once she got tired of me gazing at the color samples Emmons Guitars sent me; no Internet store fronts in those days.

Richard, congratulations on a very wise choice. I know you will love the guitar and BB I believe Richard can count on delivery very close to the 40 day date. Things are definitely different now. I too, love the Emmons guitars, we can sure agree on that.

Richard,
I know how you feel!!!! Mine, (LeGrande II) is due to leave the factory THIS WEEK!!!! Golly Gee but it's hard to sleep. (I use the term THIS WEEK in a fairly loose sense 'cause I ordered it back in April and was told 10-12 weeks!).
Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, I'm just learning to cope with this antishypay.. ..antisheep.. .. anticipation.
See.. I can so spell propellee.

Yes I do believe it will be here in 40 days Bobby. There is a reason I say this.I put a deposit back in first week of march.I had some difficulty my self with the 6 month delivery due to finances so I asked him to push it back for me for the end of next month.About 2 weeks he called to verify it will be in this group of 15.Yep it is time.I feel like a one legged man in a butt kicking contest without the ole guitar.I think I had withdrawls the first 6 months without it,but this should help. |

Is 6 months what they are quoting on a new guitar? Is this because of the recent changes or is this always been Emmons' policy?

I remember waiting and then the UPS delivery missed me the first day. I wanted to break into the place...
Be sure and get the tracking info from Emmons so you can arrange to be there or leave a note directing them to leave it with a neighbor; or hold for pickup. Missing that delivery by about 15 minutes is PAINFUL!

Luckely there is always someone here to answer the door.Hopefully I will have one of the cases with the tweed type material that alot of people are talking about.
I hope the counterforce unit wont take alot to learn to use. |

Hi Richard,
I got my new Emmons LeGrande 3 with Lawrence 710's late last September. I took it into the studio & cut a version of "the Star Spangled Banner", as my tribute to the Relief Fund. It is one fine sounding guitar. The counterforce works well, never need to adjust the guitar. Take a listen to the tribute on my website. Click on tribute & load the MP3. All the best with your new guitar. Here's my site. Also a few more pics in the music section with a big band version of Rudolph! Ed http://members.rogers.com/music12/index.html |
