I'm not really familiar with Dobros, but the decal, dot inlay and pattern of the coverplate screws seem to indicate that this is an OMI instrument, possibly built in 1970. Perhaps a model 60DNS?
(I would say "Correct me if I'm wrong ..." but I know I can count on that!)

S/N indicates 1975. It looks to be a model 63 or 66(?). It's tough to tell from this 1974 OMI catalog.
Value is subjective of course, but, $800-1,100 depending on condition of course.

Howard:
Gruhn's Guide says that Model 63 is an 8-string, and Model 66-S has a "sandblasted design on top and back."
Then again, Gruhn's says the serial number should be "5 311 D" ... Caveat emptor! |

You are correct on the models...
On the dates my Gruhn book says:
1970-1979
D #### #
1980-1987
8 #### D
That would place the guitar D 311 5 as a squareneck 311th made in 1975??

My thoughts re: "Vintage" go back to 1945 and earlier. This guitar is not what I would term to be "vintage". (I guess it's all in the eye of the beholder). It appears to be in excellent condition. The value ? I haven't a clue. |

Maybe it's because I'm 48, but I don't think of 1975 as "vintage."
In my book, anything prior to March 4, 1955 qualifies as "vintage" ... |
