Bit of a silly question but I'm in Nashville on Oct. 21 and 22 (a Monday and Tuesday) and wondering if any good steelers are playing those nights.

A great place to start is Legends corner on Lower Broadway. Clubs all the way down the street. I just got back and saw a ton of really good players.

John,
I'm at the Nashville Palace. Seems some guys forget that real quick. Or maybe they think I'm not worth hearing I don't know.
I've left names for people at the door before and they came but they don't want to mention the place after that. So I guess I'll remember that when they ask again.

Hey Mike.... If a person has ever heard you play there ain't no way they can not say what a great player you are, unless of course they are totally unaware of what greatness is. The wife and I are trying to make plans with another couple to head out toward Nashville and The Palace is on the tip top of the list. As a new steel player I have searched long and hard for the "style" I like most. I have listened and studied Hughey, Green, Emmons, and many many more. No doubt they are great players but I must admit that I have stolen more licks from Mike Sweeney than all the others put together. This thread was started on "where to go" in Nashville. Well my friend there are many good players in Nashville but if I wanted to go there and listen to some good heartfelt steel guitar and great band...THE PALACE...Plain and Simple...cause that's where you will find Mike Sweeney and I assure you... that's the steel sound you will come away from remembering forever.

Oopsie!! that was aimed at me!! John, an oversight on my part, do go to the Nashville Palace (sorry Mike, my bad). Mr. Sweeney was gracious enough to put me on the guest list every night I was in town. The band is good and Mike is super, he was also nice enough to get the band to do a couple of instrumentals for me. It's right near the Grand Ole Opry. Have him do the tune he wrote in the style of Chalker, it rips.

Hi John,

I'll be playing at the "Second Fiddle" on Broadway Oct. 21 from 6:00 PM-10:00 PM if you care to come out. Love to meet you and show you this pretty Fessenden S13.

Usually it's a very kickin' country band with good singers and pickers! Call me if you need directions or anything: 1-615-885-6565

If ya get a chance to see Terry, have him explain the set up of his new steel to you. He started telling me, I told him to stop after 30 seconds, thinking about the possibilities was giving me a headache!!
