I gotta' tell ya, a nicer man, you'll never meet. AND, he needs to take a "back seat" to nobody when it comes to playing that black Emmons LeGrand III. Man, Dave really plays some fine pedal steel guitar.
I just got in from a gig and Dave was playing for the Tennessee Mountian Boys with the Bobby Wright, Johnny Wright and Kitty Wells show.
Our band opened for them. I had never heard Dave play before. What a very pleasent surprise. The man do do some pickin'!

I met Dave back in March when I went to see and hear Buddy Emmons play. We talked about Emmons guitars and how awesome they are. His Emmons Legrande is one of the prettiest guitars I've ever seen. I first saw it on the Opry the night that the Opry was paying tribute to Chet Atkins. Dave was sitting beside me when we went to hear Buddy play with Johnny Bush. Brett Day, Emmons S-10

Yeah Bobby, they were in Llano the night before. We opened for them at the Opry also. Dave was warming up before the second set and was hitting some awsome stuff. I said why don't you play some of that behind Kitty? He said if he did he wouldn't get to be on the next tour He's a super picker and a really nice guy. Also Kitty, Johnny, Bobby and the Tennessee Mountain Boys were all superb and were well received. Don.

Dave Robbins is one of my favorite Nashville Steel players. He plays great on both necks!
You can hear him play on the opry with Jean Shepard and occasionally in the clubs. He always has great tone and plays with tons of taste and finesse.

I had the pleasure of playing steel for Jean Shepard a while back at a show here in Ohio. Jean sent me a set list (Tape) before the show with Dave playing steel. This man is AWESOME !!!!! on steel. Im still trying to copy some of Daves licks.

"THANKS ALL" for those kind words! I really appreciate them.

Smiley!
Sorry man, I've been so busy lately, I keep forgetting to send in my application for membership! Oh yeah, about the playing thing......well, you know!

Don,
nice getting to meet and talk with you at the show Saturday in "Llano". Enjoyed you and the band! Thanks for letting me sqeeze in!

Bobby,
"thanks man" for the use of those Peavey 1000's at the show on Sunday. I really do appreciate it and they worked flawlessly! It was great getting to meet you and spend a little time jawing' with ya. You guys sounded really great too. We all talked on the bus on the way out of town about what a good job you guys did.
Great job on "your feature" during the show, too!

Anybody getting down in the "Texas" region be sure and check out both "BOBBY BOWMAN and DON RICKETSON".

sincerely,
Dave!
