My Sierra 6-string laptop arrived a day or two ago, and it's everything I'd hoped. Beautifully built, and with a great sound. To keep the cost down - the steel is not yet earning its keep - I went for the simplest pickup option (no switching) but I thought I may add that later. But the pickup sounds SO good I may not bother. Full rich sound and SUSTAIN! No doubt due to the weight - I may have to have my knees re-inforced! Only problem is treble loss when backing off the volume knob - I've posted a question in the "Electronics" section...

Congrats on one of the best lap steels made today. That's a solid guitar with great sustain & tone. I love my 8 string.

Out of curiosity, what is the scale length and string spacing?

Donald, the scale length is 24 1/4", and the string spacing on my 6-string is 3/8. Tony.
