I've noticed a "Roybert" model lap steel and matching amp on eBay recently. The description says that "Roy Bert was a very renouned lap steel player of his time. So much so that they marketed this Lap Steel ensamble under his name."

A Google search and a search of No Peddlers turned up zip on Roy Bert. Was he a real player? Or is the full moon out over eBay again?

According to this link, there was a person named Roy Bert Alkire. I couldn't find any reference to Roy Bert or Roybert in Lorene Ruymar's "The Hawaiian Steel Guitar and Its Great Hawaiian Musicians".
