That is super cool, and look NO writing on the walls of Tootsie's, that must be a long time ago.
Does anyone know for sure if that is Jimmy's "BLUE DARLIN"????? |

Joey ,
I sent this the page on your post to Jimmy's brother Joe who lives very near us , belongs to our church in Livingston , Tx. and is good friend of ours .
Maybe he can answer the question you asked .
In case you have not read it , b0b has a premanant page that Joe wrote about his little brother Jimmy which is available to the forum members . You can check it out through this link : [URL=http://b0b.com/jimmyday.htm http://b0b.com/jimmyday.htm

It was probably shortly after Jimmy got his Sho~Bud. Definitely late 50's.
Think I'll add it to the site. Is that okay, Joey?

So early that it appears that they used a chair for the legs and endplate.
Great picture Joey, thanks for sharing. |

Ernie,
I'd give you permission, but it's not my picture, I just maintain the Website.

Great picture!
Buddy, are there any pictures of you playing without a huge smile on your face? I'd like to see one just for the novelty of it...

That was the 1st Blue Darlin', and if I remember right, Buddy put the name on it. It was in the sixties. Jimmy is picking a Fender Precision. This was right at the beginning, of "the good old days". Buddy and Jimmy were always "jammin", somewhere, if they were not on the road. For those who missed out on those "jams". DON'T know what you missed!! And if a listener made a request, he was walking on thin ice. I saw Jimmy ask them to LEAVE, and not to politely!
All I can say is, IT WAS FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Little" Buddy.
