It is my understanding that Smiley Roberts will play Amazing Grace on Don’s guitar. Harry Wade will do two vocals. A memorial / benefit to help pay funeral expenses is being planned here in Northern Virginia for Sunday August 25th at 1 PM at the Vienna Moose, Vienna, Virginia. Anyone wishing to participate, make a donation, or needing information can email me at chuckfly4u@aol.com or call me at 703-753-7551.

I couldn't play, "Amazing Grace" on Don's steel. It was an Emmons p/p with a "Day" set-up. I don't know how to tune a p/p,& I can't play a "Day" set-up. So I wound up playing it on my "all-pull" Sho~Bud,w/ an "Emmons" set-up. Everything went smooth. Don is,now,"sharing a room" w/ Curly Chalker,out at the Veteran's Cemetery,in Pegram,Tn. We will,all, miss him.

Smiley,
I’m sure what ever you played it on would have been great, and from what I heard from Jimmy Case it was. I wish I could have been there. The only thing that would have made playin Don’s guitar more difficult was if it was a left hander. I just confirmed the date of August 25th (Sunday) as the date for the benefit/memorial for Don to help with funeral expenses. It will be held at the Vienna Moose Lodge in Vienna, VA Anyone who would like to help or needs information can email me chuckfly4u@aol.com or call me at 703-753-7551 We are hoping some of Don’s friends from Nashville will be able to make it. I’d like to thank you on behalf of all Don’s friends and family for playing at the funeral.
