Lelland was backing up Jerry Roller and Wayne Smith at the NTsga meeting last Sunday. What a picker. I've seen him a couple of times lately and he just blows your mind. Jerry and Wayne did a great job, and he made them sound even better. You big time steelers ever have an important gig, you otta get in touch with him, he'll make you sound even better. They also had a clarinet player from Tyler, a fiddler that harmonized with him, a keyboard, base and drums. They played "Night Life" and some guy got up and sang for them..WoW I've never heard it played better

Leland is also tolerant. He let me sit beside him on a couple of occasions without kicking my amp over.

Speaking of amps, the guy builds them. Interesting, good-sounding, good-looking ones.

Not a steel player per se, but I understand he has a pedal/guitar rig (something like Phil Baugh's?)

Very interesting player to listen to. His Martinesque gut string stylings are pleasing to the ear, and Leland is quite hip to jazz. He is the star of the Joe Paul Nichols "Five Pennies" band.

Jeff, Just double what you said and it will be getting closer to this unbelievable talent. Leland is way out there in his ability and talent. It was marvelous to watch him work. However, the whole backup band was really on the money. They played their hearts out. Thank you guys for the kind words about the TSGA and thanks to the great band who made all the artist sound great. The entire show was a delight to see and hear. We had an awesome show. Wayne

Okay...why didn't y'all invite me?

Where was it and will it happen again?

(And will Jerry Roller tinker with my push-pull if I tote it along?)

Leland is one of the finest guitarists I have EVER heard! Over the years, I've seen some of the finest studio cats in Nashville, LA, MPLS, Toronto play and without a doubt, Leland Green is right there with the best! He is a skillful, tasty player. Not only is he a fantastic guitarist, but one terrific, humble person.

Everyone who loves great guitar playing needs to get his brand new gospel CD. It absolutely wonderful!! (Great ideas for us steel players as well). Email Leland Green for his CD at: pgreen@flash.net

Leland is a world class player in my opinion.I include him in a group of players(that I have ever heard)that are found(IMHO) ony in the top 1 percent of players.

He can play any gig that I have ever heard or been to.

He is a fun guy to be around, very gracious and extremely cordial. A class person.

I was very impressed that he worked just as hard on 8 year old Austins Stewarts songs as he did on the Roller,Newberry songs. But so what, everyone that knows him knew that is what he would do.

Everyone needs to order his new gospel guitar CD. It's really full of the influences of Atkins, Carlton and Reed styles. I think it is only $10 plus shipping.

I met Leland in 1979 when I was visiting Jim Evans in Texarkana. Leland had quite a reputation back then. I worked with him about 8 months ago and he still has that superb touch and taste.
