Bruce Clarke is just days away from releasin' his latest restoration .... his first Sol Hoopii.

While we wait, lets enjoy Andy Iona playin' some American Jazz ... Tommy Dorsey's theme song...

I'm getting Sentimental Over You

This is off "At Night, By the Ocean" ... Cumquats first Andy Iona CD.... Cumquat Records

Thanks Rick...Strangely, I had never heard this recording before today. Quite a jazzy arrangement of an otherwise slow song...I love it!!! Appreciate this revelation.

Mr. Clarke said that he got alot of "Radio Transcriptions" of Andy, Dick and Sol from a radio station in Australia back in the 40's ... archived them to high quality studio tape ... then used some serious digital technology to bring us these beauties.

Since gettin' my first Andy's from Cumquat ... I've become a certified "Iona Fanatic" ... his vibrato FASCINATES me !!!

Amen to that, brother! Back then, even the singers had great quivering vibrato.~~~~~~~~

Thank you Rick.
I really like that!
It knocks me out how
Andy could express himself
and give the instrument
a voice like quality.

I just got some really good news from Bruce Clarke. He now has enough material to do:

Andy Iona Vol. 6 & 7 maybe even 8 ....

Dick McIntire Vol. 6 & 7 ...

Three Al Kealoha Perry featuring David Keli'i ...

Another Sol Hoopii .. his own stuff and some tracks with the Moana Serenaders (Bobby Nichols on steel and Sol as arranger and musical director and possibly playin' Uke).

Also some compliation CDs ... samplers of all these great CDs and another with Sol Bright, Eddy Bush and more Augie Goupil.

How is that !!!!

Rick, thanks for the song. That's pretty interesting that Sol was doing arranging. Bruce Clark is the coolest!
