Uncle Doug Seymour came to see me at a hotel gig in Erie, P.A. He drove an hour. He is in his seventies. We had dinner and talked about steel guitar. When we were finishing he stood up and took off his Sho-Bud jacket and handed it to me. He said, "I want you to have this". This was one of the most profound things that I have ever had happen to me. Uncle Doug, I am saying this publicly. You are always welcome at my table! You are truly a man with heart and soul and I wish I could have heard you play when you were younger. I know what you were. I will never forget our meeting. You are my friend. God bless you.

I too have had very positive experience with Doug.

He spent many hours sending me BIAB files and never wanted a thing in return.

Thanks once again Doug.

You ought to rub some of this off on your nephew Smile (Here come the flames!!)

I can say the same about Doug. A great and caring person. He plays a very nice C6 too!

I know because he sent a CD with some old pop standards on it.
He gets a lot out of that S10 Excel with 3 pedals and 5 knee levers tuned C6......al

Tho Doug has said he doesn't remember it, I visited his house back in the 60's when I lived in the area. He left a lasting impression on me. One such was the photo album he kept of his musicial career, even back then. Doug was a prolific musician back then and still is. He hangs around with a common friend I haven't seen in almost 25 years named Phil Griffen. Phil was my inspiration for taking up the psg.

Doug worked for the biggest guy in the area, named Jack Dunnigan, who had a radio show as well. While we talk occasionally via the internet and he has sent me musical files as well, I'm now 2500 miles from his doorstep and and it's a little hard to visit, but he still remains one of my heros.

Hey guys, as ET used to say, "Thanks A Lot!"
The people we meet as we go though our lives
are the most precious to us all! I enjoyed a
post one player put on recently about what he
owed the steel guitar for the great enjoyment
he had gotten out a life with it & the people he'd known along the way. Kevin, don't
outgrow that jacket like I did....keep working out on that nice ShoBud you have! I
enjoyed you and hearing your band. Next time
you get out this way let me know!

This is to Kevin and Doug. I'm from the Deep South now but come to the Adirondacks during the summer. Orrigenally from the Glens Falls area. Have met a lot of players but would be interested in the jams you have in your area. Play Dobro up there with a lot of Bluegrass and Country People. Looking forward to meeting you'al. Now, I can't tell everyone how warm it makes me feel to see this great, musician, steel player, entertainer (pro comedian) get some recognition after all these years.Great chord man on spanish (rhythm)guitar also. Doug is and has been for many years, a great player and person,I have him to thank (or blame)for twisting my life into a series of steel guitar mishaps. If it wasn't for him I could have been a plummer, farmer in western N.Y. or maybe a professional Banjo player!
He really is a great guy my friends, regardles of what he did to me as a kid!
Bobbe

B.Cole and Jim Eller,Thanks!
