Dear forumites,
A local band I now and then play with asked me to do an instrumental called "Three picks", by Lloyd Green. Now I don't care much for instrumentals in general, but this one sounded quite snappy and entertaining to me, as well as educational. However, and I've been puzzled by this for weeks now, I can't figure out wether to play it with a shuffle-feel or not. Of course one can say I can pick it any way I'd like to, but I'm just very curious what Mr. Green intended it to be, when he wrote and recorded it. The fact is, I can't help hearing most of the notes pretty right on the beat, but also hear a subtle shuffle sneaking in now and then. Frankly, IMHO, at times it feels not very tight with the band anymore. Could one of you L.Green-analysts(fans) help me here? Of course, Mr. Lloyd Green, if you happen to read this: Do I make some sense, or am I too picky? rob.
