What has become of Carl Dixon? I used to enjoy his responses to the subjects brought forth in this forum. |

You don't think there might be something more important than the SGF do you? |

Could it be Carl is writing a book? I once told him that he should. Maybe he took me seriously. I sure hope so. |

I miss him. Haven't heard from him in quite a while. I wonder if that .011 on his Excel has broken yet.

Here I tho't I'd made a terriffic discovery relating to Carl Dixon but have had to realize I was mistaken; this is the first mistake I've made all day, I think.
There is a blond, double neck WRIGHT pedal steel for sale at Sierra Guitars here in Portland, OR, with the name painted on the front that I tho't was Carl's........however it turns out to be Bobby Dixon....a machine purchased new and used by Tommy Morrell until the new Fenders came out. Oh-hum... |

Bobby Dixon is secretary of the Western Swing Society of the Southwest(WSMSS). He currently plays the white Sierra previously owned by David Wright(David will remember the Harley decals on it). I'll notify Bobby of the guitar just in case he might want to buy it back. www.genejones.com |

I noticed that Carl stopped posting after September 11, as did very many of us for a while, I think. Guitars, the state of country music, whatever, didn't seem that important. Most people drifted back... Carl hasn't. If he's reading this - hope you are well Carl, and I'm sure you will do what feels right.

Carl; Please let us know that you're still out there!! We really need your insight and experience! If your 3rd string popped, tell us where along the neck that it popped!
Seriously... You're alive, aren't ya buddy? Please just let us know that?

I talked with Carl last week. He is doing fine. And, believe it or not --- his third string on his Excel has not broken nor has he replaced it. This is incredible. |

Nawwww ! That won't do it Bobbe ! I've been trying to get him to bite on my Cb6th tuning and if that don't work nothing will.
I do think he knows all of his friends and they are many indeed, miss him on the Forum !
He has always struck me a gracious and kind person. More than that, I have always known him to be his own man and I admire him for that. I will do what I must: WAIT !!
Regards, Paul |
