How many musicians do play the steel on the highest level and has the same level on other instruments.
We have overhere (europe) Andre Sommer (the netherlands).
His steelplaying sounds like L.Green/j.Hughey,
and he playes the piano/leadguitar like the best
top nashville musicians,,,,,then i heard a lot of C&W lp/CD's where (i know now) he did all the
other tracks ,keyboard/bass and CP drums and all the vocalls ,,,,,and (co) produced it on the "nashvillesound"way.
He played with ao.Charlie McCoy,Skeeter Davis
the Jordanairs,Rita Coolidge........
for Dutch/european (and usa) understanding this is allmost IMPOSSIBLE ,,,,,,,,,,
ANDRE a TALENT how deserving wider recognition

I would like to second all of the comments about Andre. He is a truly a multi-talented musician and a good friend I have known for many years. I only wish I was able to see and hear him more often! |

I had the pleasure of meeting Andre last summer. He has certainly done a lot of things in music over his long career--and it ain't over yet! He welcomed me into his home, we chatted about music and listened to CDs until all hours. A fine picker and a gentleman as well.
