I had a hard time locating one of these for my National New Yorker. I know there are a lot of old Valco (and other) steels out there with screw-on connectors instead of 1/4" jacks. These also work for the old Astatic JT-30 harp (harmonica) microphones.

This guy is selling them individually at:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2526923681&category=16228

He is also selling a lot of ten in another listing. Hope this is helpful. Brad, if this is more appropriate for Buy and Sell, feel free to move it.

I think this topic is perfectly acceptable here. It's hard to find this sort of adapter anywhere. I ended up buying a 20 foot cord from Angela Instruments, and then going out and getting the guitar modified to a standard guitar output jack.
That's a decent price - I'm sure they'll get snapped up right away. Thanks for letting us know, John.

The Switchcraft screw-on mic to 1/4" adapter is available at www.harmonicaplanet.com

Reasonable prices, also has great cables with the screw-on connector built in.

I have had 2 new yorkers. If I were to keep one I would for sure switch it over. Not stock anymore I know but much better and nicer.

There are many sources for the Switchcraft #332AX adapters. If you do a search, you'll find plenty, including Christopher's excellent harp site, to which he linked.

It is absolutely no big deal to just use the adapter and then you can use any standard 1/4" cable you like. I use one with my '50 or '51 Supro MOTS lap steel, as well as an old crystal harp mic and an old DeArmond 'Monkey on a Stick" archtop guitar pickup.
