WOW!! His "Hard Rain Don't Last" album is a steel players dream. Paul Franklin and Mike Johnson doing the steel work. In-freakin-credible. Most of the album reminds me of the Desert Rose Band albums. Lots of great up-front steel and fantastic harmonies, as well as the overall styling of the songs. Made me put an $800 stereo into my pick-em-up truck to fully enjoy the quality of this album. OK, so I would have put the stereo in anyway, but the album is truly a masterpiece in my opinion.

I think he is one of the best real country artist to come along in a very long time. He wrote 10 of the 12 songs on that cd. And you guys are right, it a Great CD. I hope the steeler in his road band realizes what a great artist he gets to play behind, REAL COUNTRY MUSIC

Darryl and his family live about half mile from me, i can assure you he is country as cornbread. I have had the pleasure of playing with Darryl in the past and he does know what country music is all about. He is one of the few artists who carry a steelguitar in his road band. GO out and buy his CD's you won't be disappointed.

Does anyone know for sure which songs Paul played on and which ones Mike played on? I'm having a real tough time figuring it out.
