The foremost solo male performer in the UK at the present has got a PSG player in the band (and he appears fairly prominently on the forthcoming single release).
For the benefit of USA readers, Robbie has sold millions of albums (14 million?), but is unknown in the USA. He is a mainstream pop artist in the UK and Europe.
Good exposure for the steel guitar...
Dave. |

I might add that Robbie's a repeat top ten chart artist in Australia as well.
A steel player though, how interesting. |

Sorry, I've only just spotted the replies to my posting.
Johan,
I don't know who the player is; he looks fairly young (for a steel player 8^). Robbie's come in at number one in the singles charts this week in the UK, predictably, (with steel on both sides of his double A-side!).
Perhaps you could take a look at TOTP on the BBC this coming week to see if you recognise him?
Jason,
Nice to hear from down-under!
Cheers,
Dave.

I think the player may be Melvin Duffy...
Are you out there Melvin, can you confirm? 8^)

Yes we had a glimpse of the steel player on last Fridays BBC Top of the Pops. It seems that once a singer starts to mature he adds a steel player to his band? |
