I had to 'paws' to figure this one out. Did you make any adjustment to the 'tail' piece ? Perhaps you should restring the guitar with 'gut' strings ? This might prove to be a real 'cat'astrophe for the greats like Jody and Ray to compete with !

I once had a hound dog who loved to "sing" along with a harmonica. He had pretty good tone, but his pitch was highly variable. I wouldn't say he sounded much like Hendrix. I could suggest putting him in a group with your cat, but somehow I don't think it would work out.
