In another message on the Forum:
http://steelguitarforum.com/Forum2/HTML/003566.html

I said: "I grew up a few miles north of San Luis Obispo, where National is now--but I heard they're getting ready to move their manufacturing to Mexico"

I had my facts all wrong. What I had been told was that Ernie Ball (also in San Luis Obispo) was moving its string manufacturing to some place near Mexico. I got my facts mixed up. Sorry. (Apparently Ernie Ball is having trouble finding people in San Luis Obispo who will accept whatever EB is paying for making strings.)

Or, maybe Mr. Ball is getting fed up with dealing with OSHA and EPA regs, EEO crap, the IRS, the laws of the State of California, the laws of the Country of _____, etc. etc. etc.

If he moves his operation to Mexico, the only thing he'll have to deal with occassionally is the Border Patrol and the Customs Service, and we all know that as long as your bringing stuff into the country . . . why, it's nothing but a cake walk!!!!
