I've been using a Shubb/Pearse clamp type capo on my Dobro until I got my new axe and the neck was too thick so I opted for a different style capo. I ordered a Beard and a Scheerhorn from First Quality Music and the beard is fine but the Scheerhorn has me confused. It has not instructions so I was wondering which way to put it on. Does the metal side or the rubber round side go up. It works OK either way but I was wondering which way it was meant to be used. I know that when I put the rubber side down that it can butt up against the fret so that might be the correct way except that it's a little brighter when the metal side is down. Either way, the Scheerhorn is brighter than the Beard and I'll probably be using that as my main Capo.......Thanks, Jerry H.

The rubber goes on top. Much easier to engage/dis-engage the pivoting screw with rubber on top.
