Does anyone have a suggestion to replace the tuners on my newly acquired Fender Champ 6 string lap steel? The black buttons are crumbling. Thanks, Dave

You can buy the ebony buttons from stewmac or scottys. I would use the glue method rather than heating the shaft. I've replaced some, not difficult at all.

If they are stiff, you can replace the whole unit. On my Deluxe 6 they are the same as can be purchased new at Stewart MacDonald.

They also fit my 1955 Champion. I save the originals for when/if I sell them. But in the meantime, they work great. Check your dimensions.
