The Baggs preamp is a nice unit.

I had never heard of that pickup, so I went to the Elderly site and checked it out.

Unless I'm mistaken, it's only for resos with a biscuit bridge. The typical reso/dobro has a spider bridge and this pickup doesn't appear to be suited to that. If you're really curious, I would think a phone call or e-mail to Elderly is the ticket.

Hey Stu, I've been getting good results with the Fishman pickup and the Para Acoustic preamp. I have the passive pickup in my Beard 8-string and the active one in my Guptill 6-string, and I'd go with the passive if you will always use it with the preamp. Let me know if you go with the Fishman and want some help installing it - I've gotten pretty good at it...

Mark:Thanks..you are right it's for a biscuit bridge.Mike I'll let you know what I decide on,I will be getting the Baggs this weekend and I'd rather have a passive system if possible ...it's hard to try things up here.I hope that you both have a great Thanksgiving,Stu
