There has been a technical problem in the "No Peddlers" section. New topics were overwriting existing topics. I tried to fix it and failed.
As a result, I've set "No Peddlers" to no longer accept new topics. Use this new "Steel Without Pedals" section instead.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Steel Without Pedals - that has a nice ring to it, like men without hats or motorcycles without engines . .

It could have been MEN OF STEEL.
Does this mean that Pedal Steel will have to be changed to Steel With Pedals?
Or how about Arguments Over Steels With Pedals?[This message was edited by Charlie McDonald on 16 November 2006 at 01:02 PM.] |

Sounds ok to me, but maybe we can come up with a name that eveyone likes. I'll start with "Non Pedal Steel". ....al

Technically, that would include volume pedals. [This message was edited by Garry Vanderlinde on 16 November 2006 at 09:51 PM.] |

Strongly dislike the new name!
What would you call a regular guitar without pedals? [This message was edited by Garry Vanderlinde on 16 November 2006 at 10:28 PM.] |

I doubt if there's any title that would make everyone happy.
And due to the convoluted nomenclature of steel guitar there's probably no title that would provide clarity for all.
Except maybe . . .
Pedals? - We don't need no steenking pedals! |

Non Pedal Steel sounds like a section for anything but pedal steel. I think the new name is fine, but I really like Pedals Schmedals! |
