All the SB line of cards are good. Just depends on the application you want to use it for. |

I have the Creative, soundblaster live, usb, and love it.Best I remember about $49.

Good for normal computer use. Not so great for studio type stuff.

I just bought a late version laptop which has the new PC express slot which is not supported by ANY audio card manufacturer. Unbelievable that this could happen. SB support told me they have no knowledge of plans to make one. Now, I have to buy a USB box.

Is it possible to use both an internal and external sound card? I know you would probably have to disable one when the other was in use. |

Yes, can use both but only one can be "default" for each audio type at one time. e.g. if you have the internal set as the default for "playback", you can't use the 2nd for playback at the same time. |
