I want to save the distinct icons associated with websites such as SGF. They are not only attractive but quickly identify which ever site I'd like to visit.
When saving a site to My Favorites and/or placing a shortcut on the desktop they don't seem to be remain when I restart or turn the computer back on. I just KNOW there is a way to obtain and keep these icons but not sure how exactly. I do have the latest Windows XP Pro and Symantec updates and wondering if that might affect this.
This is driving me nuts because I'd really like to have those---call it anal or whatever but there just HAS to be a way to do this. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks all!

The icon disappears every time you clear your cache. If you want it to stay here is the way to do it. The file is located here according to b0b: http://steelguitarforum.com/favicon.ico
Click on the url, save the image (favicon.ico) in a directory on your hard drive, then right click the shortcut to the Forum, select change icon, and set the icon to the saved image. That way the icon won't be removed every time you clear your Temporary Internet Files.

Favorg is a program that will scan all of your browser favorites and if there is an icon associated with the site it will grab it.
It's from PC Magazine and you can download it here http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1895,1658430,00.asp |
