Is it possible to play the outside neck on that thing? Looks like a pretty far reach.
Even if you could reach it, could you play it comfortably?

That's Jimmy's self built all aluminium quad that he has been playing since the 50's. He put it together while working as a machinist at the submarine yards in the Bay area back then. It also features one of the earliest examples of a lighted fret board (I'm sworn to secrecy as to it's particulars)! Jimmy is one of the true characters in the steel guitar community (that guitar pretty much sums it up). In addition to being the exceptional player that he is, he's also a tireless worker for the "cause" of steel guitar. He's continually lobbying locations in Hawaii and California for more live Hawaiian music featuring steel and for space to house the collection of steels and music that he would like to donate for such a purpose. Jimmy says he's going to be joining the forum when he and his wife Bev return from the cruise they've been enjoying. I look forward to it, I just hope he can behave himself around here.
