Well Jeff,
Yes and No...Personally...I come from the Grateful Dead way of thinking that music should be shared and as long as you don't CHARGE for it,it's ok...also for educational purposes it is legal...and I have found, most folks (including myself) will download a song or 2 and if I like it, I will buy one of the artists albums...so it IS free publicity...(altho, Metalica doesn't think that way!)...and if the record is NOT available (out of print), you are doing the artist a favor by allowing their music to be heard...all I know is...when you get the site up and happenning....let me know...I love compiling vintage CD's...So, (and I'm not a lawyer and I don't think most agree, but I'm all for it...especially if the recordings are out of print)...and there are still a few sites like KaZaA doing it...
Aloha and Happy Thanksgiving,
Mike
PS..Make sure you you make it Win 95 compatable...I don't feel like getting a new computer I've added too much to this thing!

Hi Jeff, what a great idea. I'm always looking for stuff to record copy! I downloaded your song, but it only had like 30 seconds of music, sounded great! Here is a disclaimer header that has become standard for guitar tab on the internet:

Hi Jeff:
I like that!! David has a real swing to his
playing. What a nice tone ...and I don't mean on his guitar or amp.
I have his LP for which Jerry Byrd did the liner notes. A truly great player.
Is David Keli'i still living? Either way, if there is a Hawaiian Steel Guitar Hall of Fame
.....he should be there.

Allright Jeff! Smart move, everybody needs to hear this stuff. To the Hawaiian players of electric steel, David was the most respected and influencial of all. Sadly, he's gone, but he left a large recorded legacy for us to enjoy and learn it the right way. And he certainly is in the Hawaiian Steel Guitar Hall of Fame.

Good work Jeff ! I'm 99.9% sure that we're listening to Bernie Kaai Lewis on steel. Bernie recorded on the Majestic label in the early days and did a great backing Danny Kuaana on a Capital record - "Holiday in Hawaii". Was Bernie Hawaiian ?

To answer the question, "is David Keli'i still living ?" Unfortunately no. He passed away in 1983.....almost 20 years ago.

Was Bernie Hawaiian ? He sure was !
