I have a photo program that keeps opening up in the background whenever I boot up my computer. I want to keep the program but I don't want it deciding for itself when to chew up my RAM. I'm using Win2000. Where is the menu hidden to delete the commands that let it open itself? Some kind of Startup menu somewhere, but where?
Thanks,
Jim

Jim, the only solution I know for this is to install MSCONFIG. There may be other ways to customize startup in Win 2000, but this is how I would do it. Check this out:
http://www.techadvice.com/win2000/m/msconfig_w2k.htm

Win2000 doesn't have MSCONFIG like WinXP does, but you can use the same file in Win2000. The link has instructions about where to get the file, and where to place it so it can be executed.

I think this is what your after. If not, Wiz or someone else will hopefully post.

Possibly in Start > Programs > Startup ...

Otherwise, in the Windows Registry, either under: H_K_Current_User/Software/Microsoft/Current Version/Run
or
H_K_Local_Machine/Software/Microsoft/Current Version/Run
