When I attach pictures to e-mails in OUtlook Express, in addition to the attachment icon in the attachment window, the picture is embedded at the bottom of the e-mail, already opened. First of all, I don't want the picture already opened like that. Worse, the picture is at least two times too big for the screen. When the attachment button is clicked, the picture opens at a suitable size. How can I get rid of these huge picures that open automatically; and failing that, how do I make them open at an appropriate size.

Thanks for any help.

You will need to use a program such as Winzip to wrap it inside a zip/rar file and attach it as such. Email clients will not attempt to display the contents of zipped files. They will display a .jpg, .bmp, .gif as an inline image, as you discovered. Zip those photos up and send them on.

Thanks, Wiz. I'll try zipping them.

What wiz said.

Another possibility is to download Picasa free from the Google website. It's a digital photo editing and organizing program and allows you to change the size of a digital photo (saving the original), then attaching the smaller to the e-mail.

It's pretty nice, user friendly, powerful, and did I mention?...free. No strings attached.

btw did you ever get Tabledit? I'm still wondering whether to or not. Or was that somebody else?
