When I start up my Office I get a thing that says I have exceeded the number of instalations permitted by the lisense agreement.

It says I am alread using this instalation and then the program quits.

Thing is its my copy. weird. How do I fix this ?
I'm using Office X for a mac.

Thanks, Bob

Bob,
depending on the license you bought, you are allowed to have X concurrent users at a time.
If you bought the standard MS Office, the MS License Manager allows you to install it to a desktop and a laptop but will let you run only one occurence at a time.
Hope that helps,
Ed

It works again ! I put the disc in and reloaded the program and now everything seems fine. It just seemed odd that it wouldn't let me use it because it said that I was already using it.

thanks, Bob

Ed, how could the program possibly know if you were using your desktop and laptop versions simultaneously (unless they're networked, maybe)?

On a Windows machine if Word will not start, you have to delete the normal.dot file (all copies). Then start Word and it will create a new normal.dot file.

Probably the same on a MAC.

bob-
If I remember correctly that was a known issue with early Office X versions. Go here and get the latest (10.1.6) update for your version. I think that issue was fixed in 10.1.2 or something.

Jim,
you are right, it's only that most of Mac users have a wireless network running with airport to connect to the net and it'so easy to use and configure that they forget about it or maybe they are forgetful like in http://steelguitarforum.com/Forum15/HTML/009161.html
