I'm desperately trying to download a copy of a web-seminar I recently gave and can't figure out how to do it. The instructions from the person recording it are:
NOTE: Be sure that Internet Explorer is set to enable folder view for FTP sites. Check this by going to Tools > Internet Options > Advanced, and then look under 'Browsing' to make sure that 'Enable folder view for FTP sites' is checked.
If you're NOT using Internet Explorer, you can connect via an FTP Client with the following information:...
I'm on a mac and can't find these setting anywhere in IE or in IE preferences. Anyone know what to do? When I click on the link, it appears to download to my desktop. When I click on the download, though, I get a file labeled "users" that appears to be empty.
Any suggestions?
Also, I'll GLADLY pay someone a reasonable price to get a clean CD of this program for me if I can't figure it out in the next couple of days. It just needs to be done by the 21st since the file will no longer be available after that.
THANKS!!! |

Are you using OS X? If so, type the FTP address (ftp://somwhere.com/pub/whatever) into your browser and the ftp server should be loaded on your desktop as if it was another hard drive. Navigate within the drive to the file you want, then drag it to your own hard drive.
If you're using OS 9, try using Fetch to get the file.
Otherwise let me know what you're trying to get and I'll see what I can do to help. |

On OSX, I just use the Unix ftp program. Open a terminal window and type "ftp".
It's not very intuitive, but all of the commands you need are there. |
