I ordered an 8 string end-mount pick up from Jerry Wallace. To say that I am jazzed would be an understatement. The pick up arrived within 5 days of payment and has a very nice look to it...

I broke out the router last night and opened up the channel on my Morrell 8 and made a new pick guard/cover from a Telecaster pickup cover (Looks great, if I must say so myself).

I re-strung, tuned and fired it up last night and was really blown away by the volume, clarity, tight bass and "black face" sounding highs. Most posts seem to reflect the same level of suprise from the buyer.

If you are in the market for a new or replacement pick up, I highly recommend Jerry's True-Tone. The "scatter wind" gives such an airy sound...don't know how else to describe it but other users and Jerry will know what I mean.

Thanks again Jerry and I'll be callin' when I get my allowance to replace my Sierra U-12 pick up.

By the way, if you don't mind tinkering, the Morrell is a great little guitar...yea, I'll probably go the stringmaster route since I got bit hard gy the no-pedal bug, but the Morrel was an affordable good sounding choice to test the waters. I played a Stringmaster today and the string spacing was the same as I am now accoustomed and it did sound good...just not a night/day difference. The Morrell has a good natural sound with the "lipstick" p/u that is really amplified with the True-Tone.

The same store where I played the Fender also had a 3 neck Magnatone. I didn't play it but noticed that it had reall wide string spacing. Since I play PSG, the Morrell feels normal to my hand but now it know what the rest of you mean by it having to narrow of string spacing.

Anyhoo, I'm starting to ramble....

Thanks a bunch Jerry!
