Recently I have been unable to send out MP3 files on my Outlook Express E-Mail progam. I have sent them in the past. It will show about 1/3 of the file has been sent and then it times out.???

I suspect that it may have to do with your server limiting the time (or size) of an attachment. Recently, my computer does the same thing if I attach more than one or two picture files. Just a guess.

Roger, I suspect Roy is right. An alternative might be to upload them to some web-space and send a link instead of the file. Another benifit is that you only need to upload once. Some web providers won't let you upload mp3, but an easy way around this is to zip it first.

Don't know whether this will help, but to send small MP3 files on Outlook Express I had to do the following, because my cable server had set it up to only send small messages,
1 With Outlok Express up click Tools at the top
2 Click on accounts
3 Click properties
4 click on advanced
5 Look for the little box that says break apart messages larger than the little tab at the right side allows you to change the setting I was able to expand it to about 2mb

Hope it works for you

Respectfully Larry

Hello Larry,

I was able to expand the size of my outgoing
messages to 16,000 KB, but the MP3 file I was trying to send was terminated anyway. Below is the message I received.

Roger

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity.
Account: 'copedant_verizon_mail', Server: 'outgoing.verizon.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10053, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

Roger I am sorry this didn't help you, it solved my problem on Outlook Express
I used to use Yahoo. Com but they cut out their POP 3 sevice, what ever that is, and told me I would have to pay a yearly fee to continue I am not a computer expert so I don't really know what this is all about, hopefully someone else can give you the information you are in need of

Good Luck
Larry
