When using a multiple track recorder such as N Track, how do you record a second, third, or fourth track with out re-recording the first track on those tracks? Or, can you? Jim Miller I'D RATHER BE STEELIN' |

Hard to say what's your problem from the little info, plus I don't know the 'N track' software.
But I would check if your soundcard has options for what to record. If it is set to 'Record what you hear' then change that to 'Record line (or mic, whatever you're using) input'.
I know this is the case with the Soundblaster Audigy cards for example.

Jimmy,
Usually, n-Track will automatically record a new track each time you press the record button. This is the default setup when you install it.
If not, make sure you have your input meter displayed, and select the setup button, (a red button at the bottom of the meter in the latest version). It should be set for "Record to a new track" for either the left or right channel, (assuming you have only a stereo card). Once you record a track, you'll have the option of: not recording from the channel, recording to a new track, or recording to track 1.
If you haven't already, go to fasoft.com and download the manual for n-track. Also, there is a tutorial in the help file that will explain it all to you.
n-Track is great program, and is worth much more than the price Mr. Antonioli is asking for it.
Take care,
Les |
