ADAT interface/card for PC.

Hi.
Wonder if anyone have tried any ADAT pci interfaces for PC. I have a Fostex hard disk recorder (older type) which sends out ADAT. Would like to send to the PC for further editing and generate wav files.

We use Digidesign 001s at work and I am looking for an A1 interface for my M Audio Delta 1010 at home.
Either of them allow you to transfer 8 tracks of digital audio at a time, in synch, to or from ADAT. (and that includes things like the HD24 hard disk recorder as well as the SVHS tape ones like the XT series.)
Most simple sound cards with digital ins just have a stereo SPDIF connection.
I'd look on Ebay for "ADAT interface", There was one there a couple of days ago.

I use Frontier Designs Dakota and Montana cards and they work great. They also have a card called Wavecenter which is less expensive if you only have 8 tracks to move.

Alesis markets an interface card with software. http://www.alesis.com/products/adatedit/index.html

And as mentioned - IF you have USB or Firewire on your computer you can get external interfaces that accept ADAT inputs and also allow you to record. Key things to look for are the optical ADAT ports, and the 9-pin ADAT sync in and out, and of course software compatibility with your computer. The risk in buying something like this off eBay might be obtaining all the correct drivers for the OS level you have. Things change so fast you're likely better to get the newest thing you can.
