My new computer came with McAfee.I uninstalled it so I could use my Norton 2002
system works, since I had allready paid for another year of updates a short time ago. After several tries I managed to get it all installed except "utilities". I keep
getting "error -99"any thoughts? dont know a
lot about these things(or anything else for that matter)am considering testing the air speed velocity of a new Dell hard drive when
droped from 2nd story window.........

Larry,
You most likely have Win.XP on your new system. You may have a conflict with Norton 2002 and the Mcfee? Completly delete the McFee by using ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS in the control panel. Then reinstall the Norton. You may wind up buying the 2003 version but Symantecs will credit you on the years subscription.

Norton 2002 should run fine on WinXP.
After uninstalling the usual way (as Carl says) then you should do a search for anything 'McAfee' (Choose 'search' in your start menu and search in 'all files and folders') since there may be some files left in the system. Once you find them through a search you can delete them manually.
The place where you bought your computer should also be able to assist you with advice and help.
