How come the only attachments I can open have to be .jpg? And how do I make something other than Photosuite my default opener? I'm missing out on a lot of cool stuff(I think??)

Sounds like the other picture file types aren't associated with a program.

Go to the folder that has the other picture file types. Single click a picture file. Then holding down the shift key, right click on the file. On the menu that pops up there should be the option of "Open with..." Click that. Then a box comes up for you to choose which program to use. It also has a box that you can check that says, "Always use this program to open this type of file". Clicking this box will associate that file type with whatever program you choose. PLEASE BE CAREFUL! You could inadvertantly associate a file with the wrong program.
