MS Works with Windows xp

I tried to look for this question in the SGF archives, but couldn't find it. I recently installed xp, and it won't recognize my Microsoft Works files, in which are mostly my addresses. Does anyone know what I could do so I could open these files?

A great website to visit is http://www.openoffice.org You can download this application and it is free. Basically it is a version of Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint but is not really Microsoft's version. A group of programmers got together to offer a free product that will open .doc files and .xls and .ppt I also do believe that you can open MS Works files also with openOffice. Give it a try. It is a really GREAT alternative to Microsoft Office which is REALLY expensive in my thinking.
