When I put an audio CD in my player it goes to the Internet to find the album information. The player is set up to search either Tunes.com or Music Boulevard, but it seldom finds the playlist. I figured this was because I mostly listen to steel albums, of course.
However the other day I burned a copy of a steel CD with Roxio's Easy CD Creator. It went somewhere else on the Internet and immediately found the playlist.
Does anyone know what site Roxio searches, or another site that has a comprehensive list of CD playlist info. Then how do I change MS CD Player to search this site instead? Is there a way to combine the databases between CD Player and Roxio? I have tediously entered the playlists of many CD's but currently have 105 more that weren't found on the aforementioned sites. |

Jim--Checking Roxio's site, I see that with some of their stuff, at least, they use CDDB and provide a link to here:
http://www.gracenote.com/
I did a few searches for 'better known' steel players and got hits. Don't know if this is what your app was using or how to get MS's app to change. --Everett[This message was edited by Everett Cox on 07 December 2002 at 04:34 PM.] [This message was edited by Everett Cox on 07 December 2002 at 04:35 PM.] |

I still haven't figured out what-all I have on this new computer--I have at least three different options for playing CDs. My Windows Media Player shows cover art and playlist. It says that it accesses Winowsmedia.com and it says "music data provided by AMG". |

The CD player, DeluxeCD, doesn't have a way to change the sites it visits directly, but does have entries in the registry for the sites it visits in
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\CurrentVersion\Applets\DeluxeCD\Providers
Music Boulevard goes to http://www.musicblvd.com/mscd
for its info but that redirects to Amazon.com so I think it's out of date.
Could someone post a URL of a valid site? I'll try adding it to the registry and see what happens. |

I didn't find any reference to CDDB or gracenote.com in the registry, so I think Roxio must have those links built in to their program. Anyone else have any ideas? |
