I'm intrigued by this guitar on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=903982530&rd=1

I haven't read much about this MOTS acoustic resonator in studying vintage Nationals, so I'd hope to hear from those of you who own, have owned or have played one ...

Any thoughts on what a good price would be?

Thanks in advance --

Those are definitly cool. The body is solid with a hole through it and a step for the cone to sit. You can see the 'blank' cover on the bottom. Some volume but nowhere near a regular National or Dobro. Essentially they were made as student models.

It is kind of cool, but they don't have much sound being a solid wood instument. They were made for students or practice intument.
I was just thinkin' that you might put a pickup in one and get a good volume with out feedback since the body is solid.

These are fairly rare. I've only seen and played one other like it. It had a tight, funky sound but as above, very little volume. Cool look though. It's interesting to note the different ways guitar makers have graphically tried to separate the 2nd octave on the fingerboard.

Yeah I've always had trouble with those stairstep fret boards. In sliding up to the 12th fret I instinctivly go to the biggest marker at the 13th fret instead. I'm going to guess its my own hardwiring to blame.
