At the top left corner click on the figure.
Go to Options>Preferences>Setup>File types> and select what file types you want Winamp to play. thats it. |

I have Winamp Lite 2.76, i don't think it plays .wav files. Maybe i need the full download. You have to pay for that though, yes? |

I'm not an expert, but one slight possibility is that you could check your "master controls" for the sound. In modern Windows versions at least (like Windows '95 and later) there's usually a window you can open that shows you all the controls for the sound. Usually, each type of sound, like wav. files, CD's, etc. has it's own control and it also has a little "switch" that you can turn off and on. So, if the switch for wav. files is turned off, you won't be able to hear them.
Sometimes these controls can be accessed through a window called a "media rack" or something similar. Just a thought |

you might have to get a full download, but it shouldn't cost you anything. Go to http://winamp.com and check out exactly what types of files each program will play. the full version is free. I'd recommend trying to install the full version.
