How do I get rid of the BonziBUDDY advertising.
It attached itself from somewhere out there in netland. It pops up every now and then and is frustrating.

Try: Run>msconfig>startup tab and uncheck the box pertaining to Bonzi. Click OK and then restart. Seems like I had that happen to me a couple of years ago. Good luck. |

Bruce, this only stops it from loading at startup. How can I remove it from my machine? I can't find it.

I found it.
It was in the Temp Internet files. Ran "clean" and it's gone.
Thanks

There's a program "Ad aware" that will rid your machine of some of the ad "trojans" (for lack of a better word) on your machine. It's a free program and I run it at least once a week in case anything has crept in.

Only way I do it is to go find where it "lives" on my hard drive and deleting it. Or try going to your Control Panel, and choosing "Add/Remove Programs" and seeing if it's on there. Then delete the icons from your desktop and start menus, and it's gone until you install something else with bonzibuddy as a piggyback. If I'm not mistaken, it should live somewhere in the vicinity of C:\Program Files\BonziBuddy, or something of the like. Just delete that folder and it's gone.
On a different note, I think BonziBuddy is the spawn of Satan. It is quite possibly the most evil thing on the planet. I hate how some people think I need imaginary friends, just because I'm connected to the internet.
