The vendor must not have taken any time to check the price history for this axe: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=899601236

Somebody got a great deal, it goes without saying. In spite of the conventional widom that e-bay prices are too high, there ARE some bargains now & then. I'm sorry I didnt see this one!

Wow, I bought a 1953 double 8 a few months ago for more than twice than and I am thinking it went for less than what it was worth. At the same time I sold a 6 string Supro console for much more than the National Double 8 cost me, go figure.

I just bought a Grand Console Double 8 similar to the one pictured. That was a great price based on my quick research...I paid $350. I understand from some other threads and posts from Brad et al. that this guitar came with optional legs. The one I bought has had a clumsy retrofit of 3 legs and I would like to try to restore it. Does anyone have a picture of one with the original legs - were there 3 or 4? This is a fairly heavy guitar for the lap. I might like any suggestions of where I might find miscellaneous replacement parts such as tuners, etc. (which have been replaced with non-standard ones). Were there different finish/colour options in this guitar? Most I have seen pictures of are a cream color.
