I don't know much about computers, but trying to learn. Somehow, I lost all my Email files from May to October 1999. I still would like to access some of those files for reference. Anyone have any ideas??
They didn't get up and walk away. They are not in my deleted files.
I would appreciate any advice to try.OK?..Thanks...al

If they were accidentally deleted your SOL. deleted e-mail files cannot be recovered (that I know of). Check the other folders on your e-mail and make sure they didn't get moved to another folder. I'm using Outlook98, but Outlook Express works the same way.

I have setup a separate folder that I call "Archive" and I move any message I want to permanently keep into that folder. I also backup that folder periodically (I also backup the Accounts and Address Book files).

You may have automatic archiving turned on. I forget the details on retrieving the archived messages, but look through Outlook's help for "Archive". You can get them back!

Thanks Jack, yes I followed your advice. when I lost the files, I started to Archive after that so it wouldn't happen again, I hope. Jim, I will try that idea of yours too and see if I can possible recover the lost files. Thanks again..boy Music to me is a lot easier than computers.....al
